Jared Leclerc -- One Gross Thing

One gross thing that happened was when I left a Clementine in my backpack from camp over the summer and it was rotting from the inside and it smelled like citrus.

I didn’t really want to touch it. I looked inside and saw a Clementine in a brown bag with it leaking juice. I had just woken up and was watching TV in my room, sitting on the couch. I had a cold so I didn’t really notice the nasty smell. Jack my black pug puppy came in and strolled around the corner then started to dig at the backpack that was in the closet and he looked suspicious. He started to crawl on the rug to the backpack I grabbed the bag and looked at it, wondering why he was digging at it; he digs at everything he wants so I just thought he wanted the bag.

I brought it outside and I realized it had been sitting in my bag leaking. Since it smelled really bad my mom said to throw the backpack out and get a new one before school started.

  2. Jared-
This reminds me of what we see when we have locket cleanout! You never know what you find hiding until you actually smell something a little "off". This gives new meaning to a "ripe" piece of fruit!

  3. Jared -- this same thing has happened to me! One of my kids left a clementine in my car this summer and it took us days to figure out why the car smelled like rotting fruit. Yuck. I loved how you referred to your dog's behavior as "suspicious."
