Alex Uliasz -- The Amazing Adventures of the Man of 1 Inch

When I magically became one inch tall the first thing I saw was an immense metal pillar that replaced what used to be small chair legs. Then I looked up at what used to be the ceiling, which was now white oblivion. And when I say white oblivion I mean that. There were also huge bright bars that replaced lighting fixtures. But the coolest part of all was the skylights, which on this day were bright blue. The sky was glazed over with white swirls that were placed on a baby-blue background. To put my actual height into a clearer perspective, I was now so small that if I moved in prone I could fit under any doorway that I wanted to go through. And I finally tried talking and to my horror my voice sounded like something you would hear in “Alvin and the Chipmunks”. But, despite that I decided to go and check out the rest of the classroom. Unfortunately, there was a lingering danger because a class was currently underway. This was the danger of someone accidentally stepping on me.
     Then of course being me my next stop was the laptops. And, may I say that they are a lot bigger than I remembered them.  What used to be small white laptops were replaced with monstrous white skyscrapers that were held by huge black brackets with huge amounts of foam. Then when I walked around some more. And this was just to find myself caught in a huge mess of power cords that looked like a jungle with power blocks the size of houses. Then I looked down at the floor, which used to be little squares with annoying patterns that were smaller than my feet were now bigger than my whole entire body. And, what used to take just a few seconds to walk across the room now took 10 minutes! This was my amazing yet interesting adventure into what seemed to be a whole new world beyond imagination.
