In the dark barely a single light shines and a figure is outside my room. I half open my eyes and recognize the shape to be my mom. In the haze I hear a gentle whisper say, “school is canceled go back to sleep”. My eyes widen and a warm feeling bubbles in my soul, I can’t go back to sleep, so I get up. My limbs are still asleep and I look out the foggy window, and all I see is white glistening untouched snow.
I crawl like a sloth into my toasty bed and put my head down on my pillow, filled with all my dreams. I lie there looking at the blue wall and think about the winter snow falling, I drift off into my dreamland and wait to wake up and enter the white winter land.
Excellently written! It was set up very well to add more, *****! (five stars)
ReplyDeleteChris, you were very detailed with your description. I especially liked the part where you talked about your mom in your doorway telling you there was no school. The description was perfect and it took me back to when my mom would do the same thing. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteGreat writing Chris - I know how much you like snow days!
