Two of My Best Football Games - John Cone, Green Workshop

Last week on the football field, it was the Northborough Southborough Tomahawks vs. the Oakmont Chargers. It was the second quarter. I was defensive end I’m the best defensive end for our team. The last play of the second quarter it was great. On the play that I broke the kid's leg the side that they ran to was the worse side they could run to. On that side is three of our teams best players. There is Matt, Joe and me. Matt is our team’s quarterback he is also defensive corner. Joe is an offensive lineman he also plays defensive outside linebacker. When I’m on offense I play ether center or right tackle on defense I play defensive end as you already know.

The next home game my dad made it to the game. It was the first play of the second quarter I went right through the front line and creamed the running back. My dad was in awe of what just happened. The next thing I know the crowd was cheering the other team was in awe and I was on the ground saying to my self “wow!” I got up and was being slapped on the helmet by my teammates. I saw the guy I just ran over. I think he was taken out until the second half. I ended up head butting him so hard he was on the ground. I was too. My dad later told me that everyone in the crowed was like “What a vicious hit!”

  4. John,

It is always a great feeling when you know you have done well in a game...all that practice really pays off. Nice job!
